Local professionals and career experts filled the house at Summit
Academy School – Warren Middle and Secondary’s March 18 Career Day.
Presenters from Huntington National Bank, Village Network, the U.S. National Guard, ETI Technical College and the Warren Fire Department spoke with students about careers in a span of vocations. In addition, 10 students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities to help prepare for life after graduation.
Dean of Students Danny Stella extended a personal invitation to retired U.S. Army veteran Lanelle Lewis who served 20 years in the military before retiring. She met with nearly a dozen students
with interest in joining the Army.
“The kids did an amazing job being engaged, asking questions and [displaying] great behavior. We’re very proud of our kids,” Stella
says.
Principal Erin Bradley commended the school administrative team for bringing this powerful program to the next generation of experts and leaders.
