At Summit Academy we are committed to providing an exceptional science program that aligns rigorously with the Ohio Learning Standards for Science. We strive to offer a dynamic and enriching science curriculum where curiosity meets discovery and knowledge fuels innovation. Our goal is to instill a deep passion for scientific inquiry and equip our students with the tools to explore, question, and understand the world around them.

We implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework for science instruction to ensure that every student’s unique learning needs are met. An MTSS framework emphasizes excellence in grade-level standards-based core instruction, while offering specific additional support to students who struggle with core instruction. In science this additional support often takes the form of building background knowledge and vocabulary enrichment related to the scientific concepts the class is studying. An MTSS framework also allows students with an affinity for science to engage in enrichment activities to expand their knowledge of advanced science content. 

Through engaging hands-on experiments and interactive learning experiences, we nurture critical thinking and problem-solving skills while fostering an appreciation for the sciences. Our comprehensive curriculum covers a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science. This approach encourages exploration and provides a solid foundation for lifelong learning, ensuring that our students are well-prepared to excel in their academic pursuits and contribute meaningfully to society.
