If anyone knows how to ease back-to-school jitters, Harper does. The beloved Summit Academy Akron Elementary School facility dog greeted students on their first day back to school Tuesday, August 13.
Principal Dawn Presley says Harper loves going to school and making every day a special one for students. The goldendoodle has been a loyal friend, steadfast reading companion and trusted confidant to the school’s students for the past three years. Summit Academy Akron Elementary School, located at 2503 Leland Avenue, greeted more than 120 kindergarteners through fifth-graders on the first day of the 2024-2025 school year.
In all, Summit Academy Schools across Ohio are welcoming some 1,900 students through their doors for the new school year.
