Former Canton Police officer Evan McIntosh has been appointed as the Director, Health, Safety and Security for Summit Academy Schools.
Evan brings nearly two decades of experience to Summit Academy, including the past nine years as a police officer for the Canton Police Department. During his tenure with the department, Evan held assignments in the patrol division, detective bureau and Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Prior to joining the Canton PD, Evan served with the United States Marine Corps for eight years. He served with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion; attended the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Course, Presidio of Monterey; and 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion. He had two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.
In his new post, Evan will oversee health, safety and security for students, staff and visitors of 23 Summit Academy Schools throughout Ohio. Evan holds a BA in Criminology and Justice Studies from Kent State University. He and his wife, Morgan, live in North Canton with their three children.
