Noriliz Santiago joins Summit Academy Community School – Parma as principal.

Noriliz “Nori” Santiago accepted the position of principal for Summit Academy Community School – Parma.  She brings extensive experience in K-12 school administration, including social-emotional programming, restorative practices, instructional coaching and PD training, among several other areas of academic expertise. She was named one of the 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know in 2022.

Santiago has more than 15 years of K-12 academic and leadership experience. She served as a K-8 assistant school principal, high school assistant principal and summer school principal for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD).  She also served as director of talent acquisition for Breakthrough Public Schools from 2022-2023. Prior, Santiago taught Spanish language for both Euclid City Schools and the CMSD.

Santiago says she has a passion for positive school culture. “I want students to have academic achievement and for our whole community of students, families and staff to feel safe and supported. I want our students to wake up every day wanting to come to school,” she says. “I desire for every child to reach his/her maximum potential regardless of their exceptionalities. I believe that together we will make a significant difference in the lives of our students and families.”

A Cleveland State University alumna, Santiago earned both her Master of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish as well as her Administrative Principal License from CSU. Santiago and her husband, Emanuel, have two sons, Yahel, 14 and Yexiel, 11.
