Scott Pittman has joined Summit Academy Management as its new Treasurer. PIttman brings extensive experience in fiscal, accounting and academic arenas.

Most recently, Pittman served as the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer for the Muskingham Valley Educational Service Center in Zanesville.  There, he was responsible for developing and maintaining program costs for member districts, processing grant cash requests and financial expenditure reports, and overseeing accounts payable and payroll, among several other related duties. His previous roles include that of faculty manager for Marlington Local Schools in Alliance as well as teaching positions with Marlington High School, Strongsville High School and Canton’s GlenOak School, where he led business and accounting courses.

“What I love about working in education is I have a hand in preparing kids for the rest of their lives,” Pittman says.

Outside of academia, Pittman has held accounting positions with State and Federal Communications in Akron as well as Avalon Foodservice in Canal Fulton and International Automotive Components in Canton.

Pittman earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and Masters of Business Administration from Ashland University. He lives in Louisville with his wife, Erin, and children, Campbell, 12, and Wyatt, 9.
