Matt, dad and Summit staff member
Sensei,
I just finished a long day of work with Summit (til 7:30), followed by spending time with my kids afterwards. I just wanted to let you know that I enrolled my son in the 8th grade program in Canton, where I now work for the high school program. It is a new experience for me to see that everyone my son has had contact with, specifically his teacher, mentor, and sensei Hackworth have all gained the trust of my son in the week he has been there. I know it is early in the year to give compliments to the program, but my son has shown so many positive results. My son has a primary diagnosis of Asperger’s and has been way more respectful and polite at home since school has started than he has been in years past. Corey and I have started to implement the community service and respect aspect of his belt promotions, with many positive results. For the first time in his life, the school he is attending is assisting in the fundamental necessities I feel are important to him. I just wanted to wish my gratitude, which I will also share with sensei Hackworth when I go to work tomorrow. This year will have its shares of ups and downs, but I know that my son will benefit more at Summit than at the Canton middle school we were considering for his enrollment. Please feel free to share this email with whomever you wish. Have a good night!
