Summit Academy Transition High School – Cincinnati was ranked the No. 5 Best Charter High School in Ohio and among the 2024 Best Public High Schools in the Cincinnati Area by data collection leader Niche. Pittsburgh-based Niche based its rankings on academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, test scores, college data and ratings from Niche users.

Principal Steve Geresy says the rankings are a nod to the school’s SOAR Matters program. “Students live by the four components of safety, openness, accountability and responsibility,” says Geresy, adding that SOAR is a cornerstone of Summit Academy’s PBIS, or Positive

Behavioral Interventions and Supports program. PBIS is an evidence-based tiered framework for supporting students’ academic, social, emotional, behavioral and mental health.
