Summit Academy Management welcomes David Hoskin as assistant treasurer and Logan Keefe as staff accountant to its Finance Department.
Hoskin comes to Summit Academy with 17 years of experience collectively as the Treasurer/ Chief Financial Officer for major school districts including Brooklyn City School, Ravenna City Schools and Cuyahoga Falls City Schools. He launched his career as the treasurer for Newbury Local Schools where he served in that role for more than eight years. Prior to his roles as a Treasurer/CFO he served 10 years as an Executive Director for a multi-state media company.
A graduate of The University of Akron, Hoskin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
An active member of education, health care, business and civic communities, Hoskin’s professional leadership roles include: membership in the Ohio State Board Association, Association of School Business Officials and Suburban Health Consortium. In addition, Hoskin was elected to the NEONet Board of Directors in 2015. He is a former member of the NEONet Finance Committee, Summit Area Healthcare Consortium Board of Directors, Ravenna Rotary, Cuyahoga Falls and Brooklyn Chambers of Commerce and Newbury Kiwanis. In addition, David served various leadership positions for the Ohio Circulation Managers Association, including president. He also is a former co-chair of the Akron-Canton Postal Customer Council.
“My goal is to provide support to the finance office team, drawing on my various experiences in school finance,” Hoskin says.
Hoskin and his wife, Vicki, a teacher at Leonard Kirtz School in Austintown, live in Garrettsville. They have two children, Karen Hubbard and Kevin Hoskin, and two grandchildren, Kennedy, 3, and Elliott, 12 weeks old. David enjoys camping, touring with Vicki on their tandem bicycle, playing drums in two bands, and playing handbells in church.
Logan Keefe joins Summit Academy after recently earning his Ohio Department of Education School Treasurer License. He is a two-time graduate of The University of Akron where he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, both in mathematics.
Keefe completed a 300-hour internship position with the Canton Local School District toward his school treasurer’s license. In his new role, Keefe says he looks forward to applying his problem-solving skills toward finding optimal and efficient outcomes within Summit Academy’s Finance Department.
Having most of his work experience in education, Logan says he believes students should receive the best education possible.
A native of Louisville, Ohio, Keefe enjoys a range of activities, including mathematics, cooking, drawing, programming and playing musical instruments, including the guitar and piano. He also likes building and fixing things and is an animal lover with three cats.
